NBI’s Heart Salt®

Reducing Sodium provide Health Benefits.

Salt provides an essential mineral (sodium) that our bodies use for functions such as maintaining blood pressure, balancing the fluids in the blood, and absorbing nutrients. However, excessive sodium intake is also a risk factor for high blood pressure. These are major risk factors for developing heart failure, a high intake of sodium can increase the risks of having heart diseases including cardiac failure.

Salt intake of fewer than 5 grams per day for adults helps to reduce blood pressure and the risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, and coronary heart attack. The principal benefit of lowering salt intake is a corresponding reduction in high blood pressure, learn more tips here.

Reducing sodium can also help to prevent the collection of fluid in the lower legs or abdomen. People with chronic kidney disease and heart failure must control sodium intake to prevent volume overload, which increases blood pressure and causes swelling. Thus, a low salt, low sodium diet brings proven health benefits.

Neptune Bio Innovations (NBI) has formulated Heart Salt® a healthier alternative for heart patients in Australia. It can be a valuable addition to a low sodium diet. Learn how Heart Salt is useful to prevent hypertension.
